The program uses a Hayes™/AT autodial modem to monitor the ring signal and dial out. When the program senses the phone ring, it will dial your pager or another phone sending a series of tones to let you know a call came in.
The program can send periodic reminders, rotate calls among small groups or notify up to 5 different individuals or numbers simultaneously that a call has been received. Can log the time and date of each call to a call log.
Allows you to keep your pager or cellular phone number confidential while still being notified of each call.
Compatibility:
Will operate under system 6 and 7. Some 32 bit machines will have to be placed in 16 bit addressing mode. Quadra must have the 040 cache turned off.
Requirements:
Hayes™ compatible autodial modem. 1 megabyte of memory minimum recommended. Requires system font Monaco, 9 and 12 point.
To get the most from the program, you should have an answering machine connected to the same line as the modem. Pager service is optional but adds significant utility.
Evaluation period:
If you have not already tried a previous version of Private Secretary, it will allow a full 30 day trial period. If you have previously evaluated and earlier version and have not yet registered, it will allow whatever is remaining in that evaluation period or 10 days, whichever is greater.

Added a "Simulate a Call" function under the settings menu to assist in setting up the proper dial timing.
Added ability to set the number and frequency of retries in the Dial Timing dialog. Previously retries would occur every 30 seconds - forever.

Installed workaround for compiler bug affecting only version 2.25 which prevented it from launching properly on SE/30.
Corrected potential problem that could cause outgoing call to terminate prematurely when a single digit in the phone number or Private Code is separated by commas. Also improves ability to customize dial timing by allowing unlimited use of commas in the dial string.
